ARIZONA AVIATION HISTORICAL GROUP

After visiting the original Grand Canyon Airport, I quickly realized that Arizona holds a unique and remarkable place in the history of aviation. As someone who has always appreciated history, I began searching for an organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating Arizona’s aviation heritage. To my surprise, I found none.

Arizona’s aviation story is deep, important, and worthy of recognition. From early pioneers and military training fields to the generations of aviators who learned to fly in our skies, this history deserves to be preserved and shared.

With that purpose in mind, the Arizona Aviation Historical Group was founded as a nonprofit organization in 2020.

What began as a small group of dedicated volunteers has continued to grow as more people discover the importance of protecting Arizona’s aviation legacy. Together, we are working to ensure that these stories, aircraft, and achievements are not lost to time.

Our efforts will continue to grow across the state, and we welcome those who share this passion. If you have an interest in aviation history and would like to help preserve it, we would be glad to hear from you.

Arizona’s aviation history belongs to all of us—and together we can ensure it is never forgotten.
