GOALS

What Are Our Goals for the Tweet?

For years, the T-37 “Tweet” has been underrepresented and underappreciated. Our goal is to change that. This aircraft represents decades of faithful service and helped launch the careers of tens of thousands of pilots around the world. The story of the Tweet deserves to be told—and we intend to tell it.

We will share that story by displaying the aircraft to as many people as possible and by preserving the voices of those who were connected to it. From mechanics to pilots—and everyone in between—the history and legacy of the Tweet will be documented and shared.

Airshows and Fly-Ins
Our goal is to demonstrate the Tweet across the United States. We have selected two veteran airshow pilots, both USAF veterans, who will showcase the aircraft’s capabilities. The Tweet is a nimble little jet, and with the addition of noise and smoke, it will be a welcome and distinctive presence in the airshow community.

STEAM Outreach
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics—aviation embodies all of these disciplines like few other pursuits. We are passionate about aviation and committed to sharing that passion with the next generation of enthusiasts and professionals. By partnering with like-minded organizations, we will expand aviation outreach. Because the Tweet can operate from smaller airports, we will also bring these experiences to communities that are often under-served.

Flight Experiences
We will offer opportunities for people to experience flight in the Tweet. These flights may take place locally or while the aircraft is “deployed” to airshows and STEAM events, giving more people the chance to experience this iconic jet firsthand.

Training
We plan to offer opportunities for qualified candidates to earn a type rating in the Tweet. Our program will be designed to prepare pilots safely and thoroughly for this unique aircraft. We are also considering offering an UPSET training course. The Tweet’s docile and predictable flight characteristics make it well suited for advanced training. Its side-by-side seating configuration—proven over decades of military flight training—will allow civilian students to experience the same instructional environment.

Veteran Outreach
We are merely the stewards of these aircraft. The Tweet represents generations of veterans dating back to the 1950s, and we intend to honor that service by creating meaningful opportunities for fellow veterans to reconnect with the airplane and its history.

Whenever we see an opportunity to showcase the aircraft, we will take it.

The Tweet belongs to the people.
